4. Customer data and processor role

For data submitted by business customers into the Kommissions platform, Kommissions generally acts as a service provider or processor, and the customer controls the data. Customers are responsible for ensuring they have proper authority to submit and process information about producers, policyholders, insureds, carrier statements, payouts, and agency operations.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Kommissions may use cookies, local storage, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, measure website performance, understand product usage, and improve security. Browser settings may allow you to block or delete cookies, but some features may not work correctly without them.

6. How we share information

We may share information with:

  • authorized users within the same customer workspace based on configured roles and permissions;
  • service providers that help with hosting, authentication, analytics, email, support, billing, storage, security, and infrastructure;
  • integration partners when a customer enables an integration or directs us to transmit data;
  • professional advisors, auditors, insurers, or legal representatives;
  • government, law enforcement, or regulatory authorities when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety;
  • a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

Kommissions does not intend to sell personal information as that term is commonly used in privacy laws. If production practices change, this policy and any required opt-out mechanisms should be updated.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit, workspace isolation, monitoring, audit logging, and least-privilege access practices. No system is perfectly secure, and customers should configure roles carefully, protect credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain audit records, and support legitimate business operations. Source files, parsed records, audit logs, and financial history may have different retention schedules depending on customer settings, legal requirements, and contractual terms.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain uses or disclosures. Customers can often manage user profile and workspace information directly in the product. Kommissions is designed primarily for U.S. insurance organizations. If personal information is accessed or processed from outside the United States, it may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Kommissions is a business platform and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
